At the Department of Radiation Oncology, we are committed to excellence in education and continuous improvement in medical physics and radiation oncology training. Our research in education focuses on enhancing the learning experience of our residents and preparing them for successful careers in radiation therapy. We aim to inspire the next generation of radiation oncologist and physicist leaders through supporting students with outreach and research experiences!

Best practices in residency education:

We focus on creating engaging students and residents in interactive, learner-centered, hands-on training.

Our department is at the forefront of designing innovative curriculum models that take advantage of the latest advancements and technologies in radiation oncology.

Residents have the chance to contribute to studies aimed at improving teaching methods, assessing educational outcomes, and enhancing patient education initiatives.

Research in equity, diversity, and inclusion in education has been a significant area of work at UW.

Surveys on professional society and resident experience with equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging collect real data to assess where we are and help us shape where we are going.

We actively engage with the local and global community to promote education and awareness about radiation oncology
