Dr. Sandison Attends the Rose Bowl Game as the Chair of UW Faculty Senate

For the first time in 18 years the UW Huskies football team returned to Pasadena, this time to play the OSU Buckeyes in the 105th Rose Bowl Game!  Chair of the UW Faculty Senate and Professor of Radiation Oncology, Dr. George Sandison, was invited to join the UW President, Dr. Ana Mari Cauce, and other university leadership and guests to attend the game and join in the pre-game festivities.

Dr. Sandison said he was “proud and honored to witness this historic event for the UW Huskies at the 2019 Rose Bowl. The grit and determination shown by our Husky football team on New Year’s Day to keep on “fighting” and never quit trying even when all looked grim is a lesson for us all. The struggle in continuing our worthy work to advance UW will always amount to positive progress. Even if, ultimately, our goal is not fully met we will advance a long way toward it. Achievement is never the act of a single person. There is always a team supporting. We, as Huskies, know that if we all coordinate to pull in the same direction we will achieve great things whether on or off the field!”
