Dr. Gabrielle Kane Received Society of Academic Continuing Medical Education Service Fellowship Award

Congratulations to Gabrielle Kane, MB, EdD, FRCPC., for receiving the Fellowship Award of the Society of Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field of Continuing Professional Development.  This honor was bestowed on her by the President of SACME at the society’s annual meeting in Scottsdale, AZ. She also becomes one of the inaugural members of the SACME academy, which will be composed of preeminent of leaders in Continuing Medical Education (CME)/Continuing Professional Development (CPD) who are nationally and internationally renowned for their innovative contributions to this field.  The SACME Academy will serve to define megatrends in Continuing Professional Development; shape future directions of the field of CME/CPD; proactively address a range of national and international imperatives through innovation and creativity; establish a vibrant community of national and international CME/CPD leaders; and provide mentorship to aspiring leaders in the field of CME/CPD.

Dr. Kane is the Vice-Chair for Education in the Department of Radiation Oncology and has been the Director of Radiation Oncology Residency Program since January 2011.  Prior to this, Dr. Kane served as the Director of Postgraduate Medical Education in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Princess Margaret Hospital, one of the prime cancer centers in Canada.
