Congratulations, Dr. Charles Bloch – New Fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM)

Charles Bloch, PhD, Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology in the UW School of Medicine, will receive the AAPM Fellow designation at the 2018 AAPM Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN.

This distinguished honor of Fellow of AAPM (FAAPM) is bestowed upon very few AAPM members in a competitive process and in recognition of contributions to the field of medical physics, and exceptional service to AAPM.  Dr. Bloch has published 60 peer reviewed manuscripts, 32 invited national and international talks and lectures, 1 book chapter, and over 60 abstracts and presentations, and has given numerous national and international seminars on proton therapy, image guidance in radiation therapy, relative biological effectiveness, and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).

With Dr. Bloch’s appointment as AAPM Fellow, the number of FAAPM’s in the UW School of Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology will increase to three:

George Sandison, PhD, FCCPM, FAAPM

Eric Ford, PhD, FAAPM

Charles Bloch, PhD, FAAPM

We are proud of this extraordinary distinction for Dr. Bloch, the UW School of Medicine Radiation Oncology and UW Medicine!
