Dr. Edward Kim’s New Published Book – Gastrointestinal Malignancies: A Practical Guide on Treatment Techniques

Congratulations to Edward Kim, M.D.’s recent book publication – Gastrointestinal Malignancies: A Practical Guide to Treatment Techniques.

Special thanks to the excellent collaboration of UW faculty and former residents and fellows who contributed a chapter on proton therapy for liver malignancies – Drs. Smith Apisarnthanarax, Stephen Bowen, Rosanna Yeung, and Tobias Chapman.

This textbook explains how to incorporate quality radiation therapy in multimodality treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies.  The book provides detail assessment of the safety and efficacy of radiotherapy in combination with systemic agents, surgery, and ablative therapy, and addresses the use of multiple radiotherapy techniques, IMRT, radiosurgery platforms, and particle therapy for each malignancy.
